Most of us know that putting on a pair of clean underwear is part of the daily routine. But did you know that tossing your panties into the washer among your other clothes is not enough to keep them fresh. Which means bad news for your vaginal health.
There are a lot of different things that can accumulate in your underwear over the course of a day - dirt, urine, feces, and vaginal discharge. And because the environment in your intimate area is moist, it’s a breeding ground for bacteria, yeast, and fungi. All of this can lead to fungal and bacterial infections.
Studies have shown that bacteria can survive a laundry cycle. It takes 60 degrees celsius with the right dose of laundry detergent followed by tumble drying to remain sufficient textile hygiene.
